Naace Self-Review Framework
The Self-review Framework (SRF) provides a structure for reviewing your school’s use of technology and its impact on school improvement.
It is designed to help you review your use of technology in a structured way, which will in turn help inform your overall school improvement strategy and plans. Additionally, because the Self-review Framework complements the inspection frameworks, its use can provide compelling evidence in support of your school’s inspection profile.
The purpose of the Self-review Framework is to support school improvement through a reflective practice that allows schools to measure and improve their provision against a well-researched and evidenced set of criteria such that pupils become digitally literate and are, 'able to use and express themselves and develop their ideas through information and communications technology'.
The Framework is designed to support all schools, and all of the aspects are equally relevant to infant schools, special schools and early years settings as to mainstream primary or secondary schools.
Benefits of the Self-review Framework:
Schools who engage with the Framework on a regular basis benefit greatly from the process and many are judged excellent or good on inspection. Using the Self-review Framework enables your school to:
* conduct a review of your use of technology in a structured way
* record developments and improvements, coordinate your work
* provide compelling evidence in support of your school’s inspection data
* one or many users can access the tool
* view examples of how other schools have met framework requirements.
Once you complete the Framework to the required standard, you are able to apply for ICT Mark assessment. The ICT Mark is a nationally recognised standard of good technology usage in schools. ICT Mark schools perform better during inspections and can demonstrate the impact of their investment in technology.
Objectives of the course:
· To understand the components of the SRF
· To discuss how this can benefit your school
