Hello San Altos Families,

I want to take a moment to say thank you. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we still find ourselves continuing to do the best we can to stay safe and keep moving forward. Having to quarantine your child and not knowing when this might happen is extremely stressful and not easy. In the face of this adversity our San Altos community is embarking on great things and continuing to look for ways that we can have volunteers back on campus when we return.

As the COVID-19 cases have continued to skyrocket in the last few weeks our district is now requiring everyone on campus to wear a mask inside and outside, regardless of vaccination status. The only exception will be when students are eating lunch they can remove their masks. This is not ideal, however it is a necessary step as we ensure the safety of our San Altos community.

We greatly appreciate your understanding and please reach out if you have any questions.

Thank you again for all you do.

Respectfully,

Mr. Goldberg

Free Rapid COVID Tests for Students

The Lemon Grove School District will tentatively have rapid test kits available for families to pick up from the District Office. You will receive an Infinite Campus message letting you know that the kits are available and can be picked up during normal business hours. Be on the lookout for more information.

There is no cost to families for these at-home test kits. The California Department of Public Health purchased the kits with funds provided by the federal government to support testing in schools.

Your Attendance Counts -- Even on Quarantine!

Your child's attendance counts in so many ways. Strong attendance means greater benefit to your child's learning and growth, and it also helps provide funding to our schools for high quality programs for our students. Take a look at the video below to learn more about attendance, and how it counts even if your child is out on quarantine!

COVID-19 Testing at San Altos

Our COVID-19 testing day is Thursday. Please make sure you fill out the registration form online by Wednesday night, so that your student can be tested on Thursday. You will only need to fill out the registration form one time and it will be good for the remainder of the year.

Register For Testing

Click on this link to register your child for COVID-19 on site testing!

The full instructions for how to use the portal and register your child, please click here!

Please note the following:

  • Please register your child by at least the day before testing occurs at your child's school site.

  • You may also still continue to use the hard copy permission forms previously sent out; however, these forms do not provide you with access to test results. You will only receive a notification if your child's test is positive.

The updated COVID-19 Testing FAQ Document is also available with further details for on site testing.
