Attention ! Afternoon Car Riders
Please know that if you choose to pick-up your child as an afternoon car rider, there are two places for pick-up.
- The carpool line
- The far visitor parking lot closest to The Falls of Autry Mill subdivision. (Your child can cross the monitored crosswalk to this parking lot for pick-up)
However, please do not park in the lot closest to the car pool line unless you plan to get out of your car and escort your child across the car pool line at the designated crosswalk. Students are not permitted to cross the car pool line without you.

ADJUSTMENT to ATTENDANCE FOR Face to Face and Virtual -VERY IMPORTANT!
For those students attending F2F instruction, all absence notes should be turned into the front office. If your student is out of school for an illness or doctor's appointment, the parent/guardian must submit an attendance note within 5 days to the front office.
If your student is attending virtually for the remainder of 1st semester, you can email your attendance note to email@example.com within 5 days.
All virtual notes should include the following:
- First name
- Last Name
- Date(s) and period(s) they are out
- Grade level
- Reason for absence
Please include a doctor's note whenever possible for both F2F and virtual. These can be turned into the office for F2F or scanned or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or faxed to 470-254-7630 if virtual.
Attendance will be adjusted within 24 to 48 hours.
Pumpkin Decorating Contest
The AMMS Library Learning Commons is hosting a pumpkin decorating contest! Starting on October 14th, stop by the school library to pick up a pumpkin for our pumpkin decorating contest! Decorate it with a book theme like your favorite book character or a setting from a novel. All submissions are due by October 29th and voting will take place on October 30th outside the library doors.
We can't wait to see your submissions! Please direct all questions to Mrs. Bongiorno, email@example.com
National PTA Reflections "I Matter Because"
The Reflections Program provides an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. This year’s theme is “I Matter Because” and young artists may submit an entry in any of these six areas: Visual Arts, Photography, Literature, Music Composition, Dance Choreography, and Film Production. All entries are due by 9 a.m. on October 16th and should be turned into the Front Desk or outside of the Media Center. Students may enter more than one category, but each entry should have its own entry form attached. ENTRY FORM and OFFICIAL RULES BELOW.
The Georgia PTA has created a YouTube video highlighting examples of each category. For more information go to the GA PTA WEBSITE or if you have any questions, please contact Wendy Englehardt at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Student Checkout Procedures
In an effort to avoid interrupting instructional time with the intercom, students need to bring a note designating the time that they should meet you in the front office. Notes should be brought to the front office in the morning for authorization. The signed note will allow your child to leave class at the designated time and meet you in the front office. If students do not have a note we will not call them to the office until parents are at the school to sign them out. (for example, we cannot call them out of class when you call from your car) For this reason, you may experience delays if your child does not have a note giving prior notification of early dismissal.
Your cooperation with our check in/out procedure will help keep classroom interruptions to a minimum and will get you on your way in a timely manner.
