Glows and Grows

Glows: I know we've had some discussions about the tilt towards seeing a ton of "activities" and less in the way of teacher led/facilitated "instruction". The last few weeks of classroom observations has been met with a ton of teacher led instruction and it has been high quality. Fantastic work in planning. I LOVE seeing your high level expertise in full action and display!

Also, a special shout out to the staff members who organized the student singing groups for the Frosty Festival. MUCHHHH appreciated and definitely the highlight of the night (well right after my ugly sweater win!).

Grows/reflective question: Push our students to level 2 and level 3 academic conversations. I am telling you...THEY ARE READY! Even the little ones. I know this because I see it in some of our classes. Have them respond to each other and have them build upon information and evaluate information by connecting, adding examples, giving counter examples, etc.).

Inner Explorer/Mindfulness, Resources!!

I am including a link to resources, classroom tips, lessons, tools, etc. to use Inner Explorer in the classroom. Let's get started! Resource Link for Mindfulness

Teacher Sign-in's yesterday: 11 out of 29 teachers

3 at a time

In case any of the students bring it up, we have made a slight adjustment to the hot lunch line. We have put up stanchions near the window and students are approaching the window with more order. No more than 3 at the counters at a time. It seems much smoothers and many of the kids said thank you for nothing having to endure Lord of the Flies at the lunch counter.

I will list SOME calendar events below but you should have access to MY calendar and the SCHOOL calendar on google. If you don't, let me know and we will get you added.

12/18: Leadership Meeting

12/21-1/4: No School, Winter Break

1/8: Staff meeting

1/9: Fire Drill
