We are all in this together...We are Team Red Bank!

The Week at A Glance

It was a short week and it seemed as though everyone came back a bit refreshed after the short break. Our first WIN cycle is really picking up steam, and the kids are having a wonderful time learning new content in ways that make it fun. They made Chinese lanterns in Ms. Darpino's folk tales area, Mrs. Corino used Oreo cookies to make representations of the moon phases, and Mrs. Micciche's crew is loving being the pioneers of the Red Bank Ipads. I can't wait to see what other cool activities and projects are yet to come.

This week was also Fire Prevention Week and was topped off with a fantastic assembly presented to us by Verga fire company and Fire Marshal Austin. The kids reviewed the importance of fire safety, posed by a real life fire truck, and guessed the true identity of our mystery fire fighter. It was none other than Mr. Patrick. Of course, the grand finale was the announcement of the fire prevention poster winners. The big winner this year was Evan Kenney from Mrs. Cirone's class.

SMOW: Staff Member of the Week!

The staff member of the week for this week is Mrs. Perticari. She has been working extra hard to meet the needs of all her little learners while still keeping each lesson fun and engaging! Despite the little hiccups in her classroom, she handles every obstacle with a smile. Her dynamic personality and never give up attitude is exactly what her group of little learners needs for success. Mrs. Perticari demonstrates tremendous patience and creativity with her students. In addition to what she does each day in class, Mrs. Perticari’s constant and detailed parent communication is amazing. When you see Mrs. Perticari today give her a big thanks and a way to go!

Shout Outs and Important Stuff!

*Thanks to Mrs. McGlinn's class for giving me a big laugh, just when I needed it! Who would ever have thought I should be a wolf (among other things) for Halloween because I have good "wolf hair!" I think I should be concerned.

*Thanks to all the teachers and staff for helping out during the Fire Prevention Assembly. Special thanks to Gina and Toni for taking care of some of our scared little "kinders."

*Wednesday, October 19th is wear orange for "Unity Day." Encourage your students to wear orange to remind us to put a stop to bullying! Free jeans day to those who jump into the "Unity Day" spirit and wear orange!

*If you take pictures of any of the fun and exciting things you do in your class, please forward them to me. Not only will I use them in newsletters, etc., but I need to start my collection for Student Appreciation Day! (can you believe I'm thinking that far ahead?)

*As stated previously in an email, the Red Bank Halloween parade will begin around 12:50. However, as far as the parties go, we will be flexible with the time of day you would like to have them. Some parents have requested flexible times, because they have children in all 3 elementary buildings. It appears that most of you will still be having yours in the afternoon after the parade. If you and your room parents change the time, please let the office know as soon as possible. THANKS!!!

*Whenever you get a chance, remind our students of good cafeteria, recess, and bus behavior. It never hurts to hear our expectations again and again.
