Future Ready Focus
Volume III
A celebration of community, with educators at all levels, from all disciplines, moving towards a fully connected and collaborative profession. Convened by the connected education community, with the full support of the U.S. Department of Education, building on the success of previous years with hundreds of new events and activities from dozens of organizations and communities. We’ll be working together, in October and beyond, with all stakeholders, leaving no device unturned, no country or learning environment unexplored. Get involved at connectededucators.org.
Join us Monday night at 8:30 pm as we get connected with our new teachers at our #N2WISD chat! This week the chat is hosted by Future Ready Teachers! Special thanks to Eric Sams & NGC teachers for hosting last week.
Austin Kindergarten & Mystery Skypes
Mystery Skype is an educational game, invented by teachers, played by two classrooms on Skype. The aim of the game is to guess the location of the other classroom by asking each other questions.
It's suitable for all age groups and can be used to teach subjects like geography, history, languages, mathematics and science.
You can also do this on Google Hangout, but Skype in the Classroom has a section devoted to Mystery Skypes which might make finding connections a little easier.

Future Ready Academy Welcomes over 60 Teachers
During the day, teachers became familiar with the Visioning Document, participated in the Marshmallow Challenge, and tried out Google Cardboard. In addition, teachers were given the book, What Connected Educators Do Differently, which will be used throughout the year.
