A brief history of the Enigma Machine
In world war 2, the Germans used the Enigma machine to keep their communications top secret. The massive military potential of the machine was almost instantly realised and the German army all used a more developed model of the machine to encipher their messages believing that it would make these communications impossible for the enemy to decode.
