Message From Ms. Riddle
Hello Lion Families!
The weather had turned frigid, but our learning is heating up! Scholars jumped right back into regular routines this week. Elementary school scholars are adjusting to the high expectations and rigor of a new grade level, middle school scholars are being pushed to find their highest form of greatness both individually and collectively, and high school scholars are beginning to fully understand what it means to be the leaders of the school. This truly is going to be another great year of growth!
Literacy night is here! The K4-3rd grade families are asked to join us on Wednesday, October 26, from 5-6 pm for fun stories, quick crafts, and tasty treats. Each grade level will be showcasing a special book to explore and families will have a chance to enjoy two different themes within the hour. Bring a slightly used book to exchange for a different book. We hope to see you there!
TLA welcomed Dennis Quinn to the middle school teaching team this week! He will be teaching 7th/8th grade math. Although he is new to The Lincoln Academy, he is not new to the wonderful city of Beloit. He is a returning native that is excited to be back in the 7th/8th grade classroom teaching math in the city that he loves.
Just a reminder...there's no school Friday, October 28th.

Ninth grade physical science scholars worked on a marshmallow catapult lab!! We had lots of marshmallows flying. Scholars designed, built, and launched marshmallows calculating and observing Newton's three laws of motion.
K4 scholars practiced their handwriting strokes in shaving cream. Learning and fun, all in one!
First grade scholars recently finished a unit on “Magnificent Things” and had to use habits of character to create something with their class. Today, first grade partnered with high schoolers in Mr. Schultz's innovation lab to create another magnificent thing...ROCKETS! Scholars built their rockets today and will be blasting them off next week! Yay for collaboration between grades and teachers!
