Greetings Panther Families

In light of recent national events regarding school safety and tragedies that have impacted far too many families, I'd like to take this opportunity to reiterate that the safety of our students is our priority. As a parent of two boys, a 6th grader and a 10th grader, I take this issue very serious and as a result of our staff's commitment to our students, we are continually evaluating our safety procedures here at Corona High School. If at any time you have concerns or questions, feel free to contact the administration office.

For those of you on Twitter, follow me @CoronaPrincipal for more timely updates on some of the happenings at Corona High School.

Now enjoy your Panther Prowl for February 23, 2018.

CNUSD Fusion Dance Update

In light of recent disturbing incidences in schools around our nation, the Fusion Dance that includes Corona High School, Centennial High School, Roosevelt High School, JFK Middle College High School, Norco High School, and Santiago High School has been cancelled. Although no threat is present, an event of this scale may not be best at this time. I would like to ensure everyone we will be brainstorming the details of the refund process. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes and thank everyone for your understanding.

NJROTC had their annual inspection today (February 23rd) in Panther Stadium. This program is one of the true highlights of Corona High School and has been around for 17 years on our campus. 1st Sergeant Zinn has been part of developing the program since its inception, and Capt. Dale has been his partner for five years. Their leadership and guidance of our young cadets is admirable and we could not be more proud of our cadets! Great job NJROTC!

Academic Awards

On Wednesday, February 22nd, we held our annual Academic Awards event to recognize over 1,000 students who earned at least a 3.0 GPA. A full house witnessed students handed medals in three categories: bronze (3.0-3.49), silver (3.5-3.99), and gold (4.0 and above). And for the first time we recognized students with perfect attendance. One student in particular has not missed a day of school...EVER! Justin Garcia (pictured below with assistant principal, Ms. Vega, and myself) is a senior and a gold medal recipient who has never missed a day of school! Congratulations to all our recipients and thank you to the parents and families for our ongoing partnership in supporting our students to achieve academic success!

Textbook Room News

Parents, every year as we near graduation students are notified of outstanding textbooks that can lead to obligations. These outstanding books can end up costing the school thousands of dollars collectively if not returned. For seniors, this may result in withholding of the diploma. As notices are sent home regarding obligations from our textbook room, please work with your students to ensure that all books are returned. You may contact Mrs. Rapp ( in the textbook room if there are questions regarding this issue.
