A MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL GORDON
Hello Lincoln Families,
I hope you all are having a great start to the school year. We are in full swing so far and even had an unexpected fire drill during lunch today. A few reminders:
- Send your child every day with a snack and water bottle
- Send an extra set of clothes for ALL grades—label items
- Wednesday is an early dismissal day, and school is dismissed at 2:30 p.m. for all students.
- If you have not clarified with your child's classroom teacher, please ensure you have communicated the end-of-the-day pick-up/transportation plan.
- Follow the direction of the crossing guard at Harvard and Grove. If you have any concerns, please communicate them to our office. Do not engage or argue, as this is not healthy or helpful for our children and families to see.
Below, you will find helpful information. Please read it all the way through and let us know if you have any questions.
Take care,
Ms. Gordon
*P.S. If you want to share first day of school photos, please email them to Mrs. Roskopf at lroskopf@op97.org or tag me on Twitter/X @UpAtLincolnOP

BACKGROUND CHECK
SCHOOL HOURS
The school day starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Please note that Wednesday is an early dismissal day, and school is dismissed at 2:30 p.m. for all students.
In the morning, playground supervision begins at 7:50 a.m. No student should arrive to school before this time as there is no staff supervision. Students are to line up when the first bell rings at 7:55 a.m. Students will enter the building with their teacher when the second bell rings at 7:57 a.m. Students arriving after 8:00 a.m. are tardy and must enter the building through the main office door. The playground is supervised 10 minutes after school is dismissed. The playground is closed before school and we ask all students and families to respect this request.
ABSENCES and TARDIES
If your child will be absent or starting the school day late, please contact the school office on the dedicated attendance line at 708-665-3067 before 8:30 a.m. You may also notify the office by sending an email to lincolnattendance@op97.org.

LET ME RUN - Coaches are needed
Hello 4th and 5th grade parents!
We are seeking assistant coaches for Let Me Run, the 4th and 5th grade Lincoln boys running club. Practices will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays after school at Lincoln, beginning mid September. Each practice lasts 1.5 hours, is led by a trained volunteer parent, and includes exercises, a practice run, and games and activities designed to amplify confidence and respect for themselves and others. The program ends with the boys running a local times 5K race.
We are in need of several parent assistant coaches who can attend practice sessions once or twice a week. Our ability to offer spots for Lincoln boys depends on availability of coaches.
Let Me Run is a nonprofit wellness program that inspires boys to be themselves, be active, and belong. With a comprehensive curriculum that applies the power of running, the program encourages boys to develop their psychological, emotional and social health, in addition to their physical health.
Are you able to commit to volunteer for the Fall session? If interested, please email katie.r.bernhard@gmail.com.
