Ringing Out Reminders for 5th Grade Parents

It is with great pleasure that we announce that our students will be able to experience a fifth grade Ringing Out ceremony on Friday, June 18th at 9 am. The rain date is Monday, June 21st at 9 am. All 48 fifth grade students are invited to attend. This includes in-person and remote students. Students will be sitting in chairs three feet apart. Each family may attend with a four guest maximum per student. Thank you to all of our families who have responded - our event will be well attended!

We will hold the ceremony on our side field where we have more than enough space to place student chairs 3 feet apart, with guest chairs in family pods spaced 3 feet apart. All students, staff, and guests will be required to wear masks when not in their seats.

The PTA is planning on providing a celebration party for the students on the field following the event. The PTA will need volunteers, but we ask that there are only 3-4 parent volunteers present at a time. Parents and family members are not invited to stay for the party. PTA will provide a sign-up sheet for those that would like to help. All parent volunteers will be required to wear a mask when on school property.

The 5th grade students should be dressed in appropriate attire for the ceremony. We ask for boys to wear dress pants or dress shorts with collared shirts or a shirt and tie. Girls should wear dresses, skirts, or dress pants. We ask that girls refrain from wearing tops with spaghetti straps, halter-tops, or strapless dresses. The ceremony is at 9 am and the party will begin after the chairs from the ceremony are put away and the party is set up. The party will run from approximately 11:00-2:00.

The fifth grade students should also bring a change of clothes appropriate for the party to take place on the field following the ceremony. Shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers would be best. There will be water games but shirts and T-shirts are required (no bathing suits) and the students should have clothes to change into after the party should they get wet.

Food and Beverage:

  • Food will be provided in individually packaged grab-and-go style bags, delivered from an outside vendor- Burgers, Shakes, and Fries.

  • Ice cream truck - College Creamery! The children will be socially distanced in line to go and order their ice cream.

  • Snacks and drinks will be readily available

  • Backyard games (multiples of the same games to avoid overcrowding)

    • Gaga ball pit x 2

    • Badminton net

    • Corn hole x 2

    • Frisbee golf x 2

    • Kickball

    • Hula Hoops

    • Water play- balloons, noodle squirters, noodles, etc

  • DJ Dan will bring smiles to faces and feet to the dance floor (the field)! He will stay more than a safe distance away and will also help encourage safe distancing for the students- he will create a lively and fun atmosphere for our 5th graders!

Safety, Security, and Sanitation:

  • Hand sanitizer will be made available at various locations around the field and near the food pick-up station.
