Principal's Update
Monday 11th May 2020
Level 2 Update
Kia ora,
Congratulations to you and your whanau! Because of your hard work in isolating, working from home, and supporting learning at home, we are thrilled to be able to say that Matapu School will be open to ALL students on Monday 18th May. The school bus will also be running from that day onwards.
In the coming days we will provide you with detailed information in regards to some of the extra measures that we will require our families to do to keep our students, staff, and community safe in alert level 2.
Please expect a phone call from one of our lovely office administrators in the next couple of days to confirm that your child/ren will be coming back to school on Monday 18th May and make arrangements for the return of any school resources that were sent home during alert level 3 and 4.
Learning At Home - Catch Up Days
Thursday 14th and Friday 15th of May will be learning at home catch up days. What this basically means is that students can choose to complete activities from previous days that they haven’t had the time to complete. Each class teacher will set a number of extra activities for those students who may have completed everything to date. Please note our teachers will not be available on these dates to provide extensive help/support/feedback as they will be in staff meetings or preparing their learning spaces for the return of all of our students on Monday.
If you have any questions or have a child with an underlying illness and would like to discuss a plan for them, please email principal@matapu.school.nz.
