Mrs. Duncan's 2nd Grade
Final Full Week of School 2016-2017
Final Wrap Up
I would like to take this opportunity to share with you all that I have had a wonderful first year in second grade. Your children have such big personalities and they brought a smile to my face many times every single day. Whether it was an enlightened observation, a funny story, or true excitement for learning, these children are pure sunshine. Did we have some bumps along the way? Of course. Are your the children perfect? No. And thank goodness! My job would be very boring and frankly unnecessary if they were. And I wasn't perfect either. We are all growing and learning and changing. Ask your child if Mrs. Duncan makes mistakes and you should get a resounding yes. I happily pointed them out to the children so that they could see that I never expected a classroom with no errors, I simply expected their best. And I got it. I am so blessed to know that I will get to watch your child's educational journey for several more years. As a fifth grade teacher, I did my best and then my students left. I get visits, of course, but they are rare. With your children, I will be able to check in on them often. The bonding we have done can continue. Please know that your child will be leaving my class but not my heart. What an honor it has been to teach your child. I am so grateful.
This week will be your last chance to get Mrs. Duncan's help signing up your child for Explore! or Artworks! Come in before or after school and we can do it together. They are both wonderful summer learning programs with many options to meet your child's interests. Miss Zinecker and I will be teaching at the Mark Twain site for Artworks this summer. We would love to have your child in class!
Miss Lowe will be teaching 3rd grade in Strafford next year and Miss Zinecker will be teaching 4th grade in Republic! Congratulations to both of them!
