Spring 2016 State Test Participation and Accountability Changes for English Language Learners
Beginning with the 2016 spring administration, all English language learners, regardless of time in U.S. schools, must take Ohio’s State Tests in all subjects appropriate to their grade levels, including the English language arts tests. There are no exceptionsWhat does this mean?

Annual measurable Achievement Objective Reports for School Years 2014-2015 and 2015-2016
Based on initial guidance from the U.S. Department of Education on Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) regulations, the Ohio Department of Education will not publish Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAO) reports for English language learners for school years 2014-2015 and 2015-2016.

Scoring Resident Educator Summative Assessments
The Resident Educator Summative Assessment vendor, Educopia, is seeking additional assistance to score the RESA submissions for ESL and TESOL. All assessors will receive online training and small stipends.
ELPA21 Study
ELPA21 Contrasting Groups Study
The English Language Proficiency Assessment Consortium (ELPA21) is recruiting Ohio educators to evaluate their students' English language proficiency in relation to ELPA21 assessment policy descriptors and to share those judgments with them. ELPA21 will work with educators across 10 states to conduct a Contrasting Groups Study in February and March 2016. Click here to register.
