Principal's Message
Thank you all for supporting and helping us celebrate Catholic Schools Week! We are blessed to be able to share our love of the Lord with our students on a daily basis. We are also thankful for the gift of prayer and that we are able to pray with our students multiple times a day. PSALM 145:18: " The Lord is close to everyone who prays to Him, to all who truly pray."

MEMO from Mr. Huber
SMA School Covid-19 Guidelines 2021-22
The Johnson County Health Department has adapted the CDC updated quarantine guidelines that were released on Dec. 27, 2021. The SMA School Covid-19 Guidelines 2021-2022 has been updated to reflect these changes.
Notes from the School Nurse:
- Parents will need to get exposed students tested on day 5 and provide the school nurse with the results (PCR test preferred, but rapid test is acceptable if they have 2 consecutive negative results)
- If you are unable to find a test, please contact the school nurse as she does have test available or can direct you to a testing site.
- If your student has a MEDICAL MASK EXPEMPTION, contact the school nurse to make arrangements or if you have any other concerns regarding wearing masks.

HOPE FOR HONDURAS EXTENDED!!
Today was another great day for the HOPE FOR HONDURAS EDUCATION DRIVE. Thank you to all who remembered to bring a donation this morning. We will continue to collect donations all next week due to the snow days. One way the education drive will help our friends in Honduras is to pay for tutors to come to the Hogar and help students in math, reading, science, computers, music and to learn English. This helps the girls keep up in school and helps to support the work of the four nuns that are responsible for helping the 43 girls with homework each day. Thank you for helping to fund these tutors!!! When students help other students – there is so much HOPE for the future!!
We still have work to do to meet our goal of $8,000 - so far we have collected $773. 2nd grade is in the lead with $223 and 4th grade is right behind with donation of $152. The grade that collects the most will get to visit online with our friends in Honduras but more importantly will impact the future for the residents of the home for girls. Bring your donations next week!! Thank you.

Camera Donations Requested
Dear Parents,
This year we have involved the SMA students in the creation of the yearbook, and many of them were very enthusiastic to participate as photographers. We had one or two usable cameras which they shared, but the quality of the photos were at times a little grainy or were difficult to take pictures with.
As the yearbook sponsor, we are reaching out to any parents who may have put away a digital camera never to be used again. If you'd like to give that camera new life, please consider donating it to SMA for the yearbook staff to use in the years to come! It would be easiest if it came with a USB cable that connects the camera to a computer USB port. Also, simple to use cameras would be most desirable. If you have a camera you would like to donate, please contact our Yearbook sponsor Mrs. Floyd @ celene.floyd@stmichaelcp.org
We thank you in advance for any donations that you would consider.
