Miss James's Class Journal
October Newsletter
Note from Miss James
Can you believe we're almost 2 months into school?! Time flies when you're having fun, and we are certainly having fun. Last week we had Colonial Day in the fifth grade. Students made candles, bricks, bread, butter, soap, and also practiced writing calligraphy with feather pens and ink. They really enjoyed it and I hope they told you about it when they brought their items home.
I'd just like to remind you that students should be reading every night and filling out their reading log, as well as showing you their planner page. Each week they write a reflection on their planner page, please make sure they do this. Students also need a parent/guardian/someone older and responsible signature on both their reading log and planner page.
Halloween is coming up and we will be having a party! Plans are in the works, but if you'd like to help you can email me. I will also be sending a note home, so you can decide to volunteer then as well.
Also, if you haven't done so already, please sign up for Remind. You can download the app, sign up for text message alerts, or email.
I think that's all I have right now, but I'll let you know if any thing else comes up!!
Please let me know if you ever have any questions or concerns. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Miss James
