mySaebrs Screener
Attention Parents and Guardians of 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders
Students in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade will have the opportunity to increase their awareness of their social and emotional behaviors through completing a social, academic and behavior screener. The screener, mySAEBRS, will ask students a total of 20 questions and will be completed in under 10 minutes. All grade level teachers will also complete a similar screener based on their observations of the students. This optional screener will allow school staff to identify universal and targeted areas for growth focused on students being able to regulate their emotions, develop positive relationships and make positive decisions.
Feel free to contact Sydnee Milis (920) 662-7800) with any questions or for more information. If you would like to opt your child out of the screening process please complete this opt out form by May 18th, 2022.

If the 800 meter run is one of their choices they will be allowed to select four events in total.
The event choices include:

May Giving Tree Food of the Month - Plain Pasta/Noodles
This past month we have been able to give out over 5,700 pounds of food to families! We also provide families with household and personal care items. The generous donations that come in make all the difference in stocking our shelves and supporting HSSD students and their families!!
This month we are collecting plain pasta/noodles. Please feel free to send donations with your students to put in the collections bins/carts near the main office of school. Items can also be dropped off during school hours. The Giving Tree appreciates the community support in helping ensure food is not a barrier to a student’s education.

FROM THE SCHOOL BOARD
From the School Board
April 2022 HSSD
Community Engagement Survey The Board of Education would like to sincerely thank the HSSD community members and staff for completing the survey that was sent out by the District. We are grateful for the responses and feedback regarding our District operations. This is a wonderful opportunity for our District to evaluate current operations and take the feedback from the survey to understand where we have strengths and where we have challenges. The full survey report is available for public viewing on the Board of Education page of the HSSD website. The survey was conducted by School Perceptions, a Wisconsin-based independent research firm. The eight-page survey was mailed to all HSSD residents, families and open enrollment families and was emailed to HSSD staff. There were 1,060 responses. There was an increase in response rate from non-parent and non-staff residents than in previous surveys. Among all the subgroups the responses were almost all in the “agree” category, there was only one subgroup item that indicated disagreement. There was a section of survey that pertained to the Board of Education specifically. The nonparent and non-staff subgroup would like more communication, specifically with understanding the budget resources and how they are being used in an easy way to understand. The Board is committed to taking the feedback and discussing various ways we are able to better communicate with all our staff and community members including residents that do not have children currently in our District. Our District mission states: “We will work with families and community to ensure that our students have the knowledge and skills to succeed in a changing world.” This survey allows us to adjust and adapt to feedback so we can continue to improve our District operations in alignment with our mission.
