Important COVID Protocol Reminders
Please use this link to complete the district COVID form if your child is getting tested, having symptoms, or has been exposed to a positive case. You can also call the school directly to speak with the nurse. The health room number is 803-548-8313.
If your child has pending test results, please notify the school and keep them at home until a negative result has been received. They will be excused for the absence.
In Class COVID Parent Notifications:
- If your child is considered a close contact of another student that has tested positive, parents will receive a phone notification from administration or the school nurse about quarantining. An email with detailed information will follow.
- If your child is in a classroom with a student that has tested positive but is not considered a close contact, you will receive an email notification from administration.
Close contacts = A person within 6 feet for a cumulative 15 minutes
Returning to Sports following Quarantine:
DHEC states that if a student athlete is determined to be a close contact to a positive case (inside or outside of the school setting) then the athlete must quarantine from sports for a full 14 days following the date of exposure. Please remember to wear a mask to all sports try-outs/practices.
District COVID Testing Information:
The Fort Mill School District is providing COVID-19 testing for students and staff who are displaying symptoms of COVID-19. Rapid COVID-19 tests will be administered to eligible students and staff, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, by appointment only, at the Catawba Ridge High School Sports Complex. Please review the information in the link below regarding testing eligibility, process and scheduling an appointment.

Important Points for Parents
Attention 8th Grade Parents
A/B day students have course request forms ready for you to review! Virtual students will receive theirs today. Please review these with your student and complete the information. Once completed, please scan and email the form to Mrs. DiMaggio at email@example.com. The form has to be signed by student and parent. If you are unable to scan the form, please have your student return it to their homeroom teacher. All forms are due by Tuesday, February 23rd.
You will receive an email with your date and time for your student's IGP meeting either today or Monday. Please reach out to Mrs. DiMaggio if you have any questions.

First Fundraising Event - Ice Bucket Challenge - Warm up to the Plunge!!!
We are pushing the Ice Bucket Challenge back to Tuesday and Wednesday to see if we can reach our goals!!!
- If a grade level raises $200 by Tuesday, then students will be able to dump a cooler full of ice water on Mr. Eppes.
- If a grade level raises $300 by Tuesday, then students will be able to dump a cooler full of ice water on Mr. Eppes and Mr. Cheske.
- If a grade level raises $400 by Tuesday, then students will be able to dump a cooler full of ice water on Mr. Eppes, Mr. Cheske, and Mrs. Scroggs!
- If a grade level raises $500 by Tuesday, then students will be able to dump a cooler full of ice water on Mr. Eppes, Mr. Cheske, and Mrs. Scroggs! But wait there is more! Afterwards, students will be able to dump bags of powdered sugar on them as well. It will be a pretty mess!
Money will be taken up at lunch! The dumping will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday if the grade levels reach their goals!!! Virtual students can donate toward this as well. Just drop your donation off at the front office, and make sure they know the grade level. We will video tape the "dumpings"!!! :)

Yearbook Deadline is Approaching - February 23rd!!!
Tuesday, February 23rd is the final day families can order yearbooks and GUARENTEE you get one!!! After that, the school order will be placed so production can start, and all other yearbooks will be sold WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!!!
So PLEASE, if you are interested in purchasing a yearbook, then do so before Tuesday, February 23rd!

The 8th Grade Boys lost to Springfield Middle School in the championship game on Tuesday night. Unfortunately, we were missing some players, but I was SO proud of how our team battled the whole game, never giving up!!!
You boys made me proud!!! Thanks for a great season!

Spring 2021 Clemson University C-CATS Program Participant
Each year Clemson University hosts its Challenge for Academically Talented Students (C-CATS) Program. The C-CATS Program is a part of Clemson’s Youth Learning Institute.
Congratulations to GHMS 7th Grader Claire Flowers! Claire applied and was accepted into the 2021 Clemson University C-CATS Program. Claire will get to spend a weekend on Clemson University’s campus. She will meet current Clemson University students, learn about leadership skills, and have exposure to academic programs, and student life at Clemson University.
We are so proud of you Claire!
