# Kraft Class Update

## Top Dog:

Our Top Dog for the week was Michael. Michael likes to go to Chicago. He especially likes seeing "The Bean". He likes the song "Everything is Awesome" from the Lego Movie. So, of course, we sang along! Michael's favorite foods are soup, pizza, and strawberries. He enjoys going to the library and running outside. Thanks for sharing, Michael!

## 2nd Step: Think Through Different Solutions

Mrs. Ross came in to talk to us about thinking through possible solutions. Thinking through all the solutions helps us to decide which would be the best! Thanks Mrs. Ross!

## Math: Assessment and Review

This week we took an assessment over 2-D and 3-D shapes, as well as fractions. We have fun reviewing all week!

## Groundhog Day

On Monday we predicted whether or not the groundhog would see his shadow. On Tuesday, we found out the groundhog did NOT see his shadow, which means spring is near!

## Buddy Time

Our buddies came in to help us solve a Groundhog Dog math puzzle. No matter what the activity is, doing it with a buddy makes it much more fun!

No new memory words this week!

Spelling Pattern: Compound words (sailboat, handstand...)

## Writing: Character Development

Now we are well into our unit "Stories in a Series". The students have been focused on one character and writing lots of different adventures for that character. This week we took a look at just the character. We brought our characters to life by describing their personality, looks, and hobbies!
