Our vision is to be a Healthy and Literate Community!

Thank you!!

The admin team was very impressed with what they saw last week. One of the questions was, "is that what you see every day?" My response was.... why yes it is!!

You are all AMAZING educators. I was so proud to walk around the school today and show off all the hard work and years of collaboration.

Some comments included:

All students were reading in partners, alone or with a group

Teachers working in small groups to support students

Transitions were smooth

All adults are being utilize to work with students

There is clearly a lot of work that has gone on here to make this all work

There are clear through lines K-5

Your teachers have excellent classroom management

Everyone knows what to do and how to do it

Literature is diverse and representative

The conversations about books are deep and thoughtful

Technology is being used effectively

EV is a GREAT place to be!!! Thank you all!!!

Counseling Support

As many of you know counseling and mental health has been by soapbox and the desire of parents and staff for a very long time. Recently, we have been offered some more services. We have some counseling interns joining us soon. Missy will be supervising them. More students will be seen for the next few months.

1. EV FRC and La Luz offer Burnett Therapeutic, Dr. Kirk Cafes and Teresa (MFT) for families

2. Missy: Thursdays and Fridays

3. Sophia: Mondays

4. Maria (Mentes): Wednesdays

5. Christina (On the Move): Tuesdays start TBD

More Technology

As you know we do not allow phone use during school. Phones may stay in backpacks. It appears that SmartWatches are now an issue. The same holds true for watches as phones. Let me know if you have concerns. I will communicate to parents.

Youth Truth Staff Survey

The Staff Survey is:

  • Available to administer between 03-11-2019 and end-of-day 05-31-2019.
  • Taken online
  • Available in English & Spanish
  • Anonymous
  • Will take approximately 15 minutes to complete
  • Suitable for all staff members - including both instructional and non-instructional school staff.

Login Codes Available Soon!

A login code is a randomly assigned alpha-numeric code that each staff member must enter in order to gain access to the survey. Each login code is made up of 6 letters/numbers. The login code identifies which school each staff member is from (though in no way identifies the individual) and also allows YouthTruth to maintain the security of the survey site.

Any staff member can receive any login code (the staff feedback survey should be taken by all staff members - both instructional and non-instructional).

Login codes are one time use only and should be discarded once used. Please do not give the same login code to more than one staff member.

If a staff member starts the survey, but doesn't finish in one sitting, he or she can pick up where they left off by entering their same login code. Once the 'submit' button at the very end of the survey has been clicked, the login code will be rendered unusable.

Tony and Maintenance

Tony and the M&O staff are making this bike rodeo happen for us! They initiated, advertised it and donated their own money to buy bikes to raffle off!! Give then a BIG thank you when you see them around!!
