I was great to see so many people at the Pancake Breakfast and Shopping Spree last weekend. It was a wonderful event filled with good food, music and most importantly excellent company. Thanks so much to all those who donated items for the Pancake Breakfast, the many staff and family volunteers for helping pull everything together, Jennifer Dugan for organizing the Shopping Spree, the Girl Scout Troops for their donation drive and to Jennifer Cortright and Cari-Ann Schur for taking the lead at helping to pull off our delightful Pancake Breakfast.
The Pancake Breakfast signals the beginning of the Holiday season and kickoffs what typically is a busy December for our families and staff. Please make sure to look at the dates and times of the upcoming concerts below. Our students have been working hard at preparing and are eager to perform.
December also brings the beginning of a new trimester for our students. Teachers have been extremely busy over the past several weeks generating report cards and providing comments on student progress. Please look for report cards today. They will be sent home with students. In addition to your child's report card, you will receive a letter from the district explaining the new math benchmarks, and our school report card with a letter that explains it. I am happy to share that our school 'Exceeds Expectations', which is an improvement from last year.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact me at any time.

Thank you Jennifer Cortright and Cari-Anne Schur for a lovely holiday pancake breakfast! What a well-organized event to start off the holiday season. Thank you Washington Staff and volunteers from our Timby Squad, without you this event couldn't happen.
Thank you Jen Dugan for organizing the Holiday Shopping Spree! You helped gather great vendors so Washington could shop locally, thank you.
Let's connect as parents! Washington's 2nd annual parents night out at Ray's on North Avenue will take place on Thursday, 12/14. Mention "Washington Elementary" upstairs AND downstairs to help raise money for our school.
