SBHS Music Boosters Soup Supper 4pm - West Gym

SD School Districts Receive $3 million in Innovative Equipment Grants

The Meade 46-1 School District will receive $174,442 to help develop a revolutionary hybrid program combining Robotics and Manufacturing at Sturgis Brown High School. Through this program, students will not only learn how to operate and use new technology like Switch Vehicles, CNC machines and FarmBots, but they will also learn how to serve as technicians to repair, program and maintain such equipment. Meade Schools is 1 of 17 South Dakota School Districts which will receive over $30 million dollars in Career and Technical Education Innovating Equipment grants.

2022-23 Weight Lifting Shirt Fundraiser - Shirts Being Sold Now!

Dysen Peterson & Owen Koontz have designed this year's shirt to give back to the weight room and all profit goes towards the weight room. I think you are going to like this year’s theme…it is "Goals – Set, Crush, Repeat." We chose this theme because it’s important to choose to grow – in life and in the weight room. Short-Sleeve – Black w/Red Print - $15 Long-Sleeve – Red w/Black Print - $22 Hoodie – Black w/Red Print - $32 Please place orders w/Dysen, Owen K., or Sage. Cash or Checks (Made to SBHS) Accepted. After-School Program

LESS THAN 5 WEEKS LEFT IN THE SEMSTER!!! The After-School Program is available in the library from 3:15-5:15 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Three teachers will be available to help students with homework. Students should arrive by 3:30 p.m. but can leave whenever they complete their work if they have their own ride. Students who need a late bus pass are required to stay until 5:15 p.m. Any questions, contact Mrs. Buchholz at sandra.buchholz@k12.sd.us.

April 1 – Most Local Scholarship Applications are due. Check each individual scholarship for specific deadlines. See Judy Weisz, Registrar, if you have questions.


April 7 – 3:15 p.m. Deadline for class poem and class song nominations. Submit through Class of 2023 Google Classroom.

a. Song submissions must include printed lyrics as well as a YouTube link.

b. Songs must not include any reference to alcohol, drugs, illicit behavior, etc.

c. Submitted poems should be original work and school appropriate.


April 14 – 3:15 p.m. Deadline to sign up for Graduation Speaker Try-Outs. Sign up through Class of 2023 Google Classroom.


April 17 – April 21 Online voting for class poem and class song.


Week of April 24– Make class awards in Room 303 during Scooper Time and after school until we are done 10. April 26 and 27 Graduation Speaker try-outs in Room 113


May 1 – 5 Online voting for Class Awards


May 15 – 8:05 Senior Walk, pick up Senior Checkout Sheet, and complete Exit Survey 13.


May 17—Turn in Checkout sheet and computer


May 19 – 11:30 am – 3:00 pm – Senior BBQ, Class Awards, Scholarship Awards, Graduation Practice a. Parent volunteers are needed to assist with cooking, serving & clean up.

b. Parents should contact Mrs. Stephanie Kaufman at stephanie.kaufman@k12.sd.us to volunteer. c. The Senior BBQ is for members of the Senior Class only


May 21 – Graduation

a. Line up is at 1:15 p.m.

b. Appropriate Attire:

i. Ladies: Dress, Skirt and Blouse, Dress Pants and Blouse, Dress Shoes – No Flip Flops, No Tennis Shoes

ii. Gentlemen: Dress Slacks, Black Jeans, Dress Shirt, Dress Shoes – No Flip Flops, No Tennis Shoes

iii. See Mr. Wilson at graduation practice if you have questions

c. Graduation begins promptly at 2:00 p.m.
