Brentwood Elementary Mission Statement
~Achievement~Actions~Attitudes~
Greetings Parents:
Fall Parties – WOW! Thank you to all the parents and planners from our PTO that helped make this year’s Fall Parties such as success! Our students had a great time.
Changing Transportation – We make every effort to insure that your child gets home the way you indicate. Some suggestions to help us in this:
· Never leave an email message about transportation – teachers are very busy and do not sit at their computers checking email minute-by-minute.
· Never leave a voice message on the teacher’s school phone.
· Always send a written note with your child or, call the office before 3:00 p.m. We do have procedures that we follow to get this message to your child.
Something new – you may be asked to provide some form of verification on the phone when you call to change transportation. This is for the protection of your child. We appreciate your help with this.
Health and Wellness Fair – We hope you will try to attend the Health and Wellness Fair at Plainfield High School Monday evening. There will be interactive stations on public safety, nutrition, fitness and health. This is a great opportunity to see some VERY healthy kids in action. The Avon Aerial Orioles, Dragonfly MMA will be performing as well as some of our own students from Brentwood. There will also be representatives providing information on dental hygiene, eye care as well as heart and mental wellness. The Fair will be in the High School Cafeteria from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, November 2nd. Plan to attend – at least for a while.

Staff MVP of the Week ~ Mrs. Jody Davis, Special Education Instructional Assistant
Mrs. Davis has been at Brentwood for three years now. She worked at Van Buren and Kindergarten Center before coming to Brentwood. She has worked within the Plainfield School Corporation for ten years!!! WOW!
Mrs. Davis graduated from Lebanon High School and then furthered her education at Indiana University. She lives in Plainfield with her husband, Tim, and their two beautiful daughters Brittany and Brooke. Brittany is a sophmore at Milligan College and Brooke is a junior at PHS.
Some of Mrs. Davis' Favorites:
Color ~ Purple
TV Show ~ Chicago Fire & Chicago PD
Music ~ All Types
Flower ~ Sunflower
Restaurant ~ El Meson
Candy ~ Anything CHOCOLATE!!!
When she is not at Brentwood she enjoys being with her family. She also LOVES to watch her girls play in their sports. She had the opportunity to travel to Spain during her senior year of high school and she made lots of great memories during that trip.
Mrs. Davis loves her job here at Brentwood and says, "I always say that I learn more from them (the students) than they do from me. It's the kids that make each day fun. I love working with kids!!"
Advice from Mrs. Davis: Be involved in your child's life. It goes by way too fast. Parent support in a child's life is so important to their education and life itself.
Mrs. Danielle Shepherd had the following to say about her colleague, "Jody has a funny, nurturing, patient, and caring personality. She advocates for the needs of students and is quick thinking on her feet. She has played a vital role in making the Autism Resource Program successful. I'm lucky to work with her and call her friend! You are one in a minion Mrs. Davis!"
Just Another Day in Kindergarten...
Body Safety Parent & Community Program
We would like to invite all parents to a Body Safety Program on Wednesday, Nov. 11th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Van Buren Elementary School cafeteria. This program is for the parents of all Plainfield Elementary School children, as well as any adult in the community who has an interest in the safety of our children. Sergeant Hall will talk honestly about how you can teach your children to protect themselves. Children will not be allowed to attend this program, but we will provide childcare.
Brentwood Elementary students will have their Body Safety Convocation with Sergeant Hall on December 3rd.

Transportation Arrival & Dismissal Info
All car riders arriving in the morning should be dropped off in our car rider lane NOT in our Visitor Parking lot. This ensures they are not crossing over any traffic.
Late Arrivals:
If you child is being dropped off late an adult must come into the office and sign them in.
Student Arrivals (bus riders):
If your child rides the bus to school and will be eating breakfast in the cafeteria please talk to them about going straight to the cafeteria to get their breakfast. This will give them the most time to eat as healthy of a breakfast as possible.Dismissal Changes:
- If you need to change your child's dismissal instructions the best way to do this is to send a signed note to your child's teacher.
- If this is impossible please call the office NO LATER THAN 2:30 p.m. to ensure the dismissal change gets to your child's teacher in a timely matter.
Transportation:
If you are permanently changing how your child goes home or if you move please notify our office at 317-839-4802, as well as Transportation at 317-838-3632, and submit a new Transportation Form to the office.
