Math for Struggling Learners

Menus, Manipulatives, Music & Movement

Come join us for an exciting opportunity to fully experience Math!

This workshop will be focused on how to help our struggling learners in the area of math. Students need hands-on opportunities for learning through the use of manipulatives. They need all different learning strategies to fully experience math and be able to internalize it. We will discuss use of real world experiences to make math more practical to students. We will discuss math journals and their use in the classroom for inclusion. We will use music, menus, manipulatives and movement to make all of this happen. Presented by Laura Deiss, Math & Science Education Specialist, Mary Kathryn Evans-Garcia, Student Support Education Specialist, and Tonia Rozner, Student Support Education Specialist.
