NRHS UPDATE
May 15, 2020
A Message From The Principal
Dear Nashoba Families,
Congratulations to our seniors as they head into their last week. Monday, May 18th is their last day of class. Grades 9-11 students, you are in the final stretch. We have about four more weeks of remote learning and need you to stay strong and stay engaged.
We will also have a chance for those in grades 9-11 to come by the school to pick up materials that were left in lockers when school closed. Ms. Wozniak is putting together schedule for May 26 - 28, and you will need to come pick up your materials during your assigned time. This is a BIG undertaking, as there are about 700 lockers to clean out, so we will need everyone's cooperation with the schedule and the procedures. We will send out more details next week as soon as things are finalized.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Stephen Cullinane
Interim Principal
Class of 2020 ~ Graduation Update
Dear Class of 2020 and Families,
We understand that the Class of 2020 has been through unprecedented times. We are all going through these tough times together and we feel the pain of this graduating class. It is the committee’s recommendation that we plan a traditional live graduation at Nashoba in late July. The situation and guidelines for group gathering sizes, social distancing restrictions, and other public health concerns set forth by the state and local authorities, will continue to be monitored. If we cannot safely hold a traditional live graduation, we will use a Rolling Rally through the high school. Please see the graphic below for the plan and further information will be provided as soon as possible.
In an ideal situation, we would all walk across the stage at the DCU Center on June 7th, but due to the current situation, we needed to figure out a different plan.
I want to thank the Graduation Committee, composed of administrators, faculty, support staff, parents, and seniors, for their time and effort. I tasked the committee to provide recommendations based on survey results, while also taking into consideration public health concerns, social distancing recommendations, restrictions on gatherings, and other guidelines put forth by the Governor and other stakeholders. The committee’s goal was to celebrate the Class of 2020 in the best way possible while maintaining the safety and well-being of all the members of the Nashoba community.
Lastly and most importantly, this is a time of celebration and unity. Although times are hard, unpredictable, and unprecedented, we felt it was essential to making the most of everything and every moment, while honoring the Nashoba Regional Class of 2020.
These plans are not finalized as the district administration and local authorities must approve them.
Sincerely,
Stephen Cullinane
Interim Principal

Athletic Department Update
A few updates...
Uniform Collection: If you still have a uniform(s) from this year, please take the time to find your uniform and put it in a large ziplock bag with your name on it so you can turn it in in the upcoming weeks. Underclassmen will be scheduled on May 26-28th and Seniors on June 2nd. During your scheduled time, you will be able to turn in athletic uniform(s)/equipment. Also, during this waiting process, you will see uniforms show up in your son/daughter’s PowerSchool account – this is to help our department keep track of what is out there.
Recognizing Senior Spring Student-Athletes: Please check out the Nashoba Athletics social media sites as we are honoring our spring senior student-athletes!
Fall Sports: I am planning on getting our fall sports online registration up and running over the next week. Due to the school closure, we will not be able to host our annual fall sports meeting in June, so it will be very important for families to register their son/daughter early so I can provide email addresses to our fall coaches to share information about our programs. More information to follow!
As always, if you have questions or concerns, please feel to reach out to me via email (trich@nrsd.net).
Nashoba Strong,
Tania Rich
Director of Athletics
Note from the Health Office
Just a friendly check in from your friendly nurses! We're sending strength, vigilance, and perseverance to you all as we continue with our hand washing, social distancing, and mask wearing when social distancing is not possible. Thank you to everyone for their hard work on this front. We send our deepest sympathies to those who have lost family members and sending strength to those who are struggling with illness at this time, as well as continued support to those currently out of work and facing other challenges. Resources are listed on the district website and you can reach out at any time to discuss specific concerns.
We mentioned the return of medications and medical supplies in our last message. We will have a table outside the school on the days that students are scheduled to pick up their belongings. We will have medications and supplies to return to students and families on these days. More information will follow next week and please contact us with any specific concerns.
Special shout out to our graduating seniors and their families! Congratulations to all of our seniors for their hard work and multi-faceted accomplishments throughout their years at Nashoba and huge virtual hugs to their families for all their support throughout the years! Wishing you all the best in your bright futures!
Thank you,
