Hello Prairie Friends & Families,

Today all students K-5 in the School District of Waukesha viewed a video from Speak Up, Speak Out. Speak Up, Speak Out allows students and community members to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at school students, school employees, and schools. We look forward to celebrating all of the growth our learners have made at Spring Conferences! Please view this document to sign up for a virtual conference with your learner's teacher: Conference Sign Up.

Prairie will celebrate Read Across America throughout the first two weeks of March. We will have guest readers, activities that align with featured books, dress-up days, and daily book raffles! Your learner is invited to participate in the dress-up days listed below:

• March 2nd - Dress like you're going on an adventure!
• March 4th - Be you! Wear an outfit that represents you!
• March 9th - Wear something you have to read!
• March 11th - Snuggle up with a good book... and wear your pajamas!

We will also create a bulletin board to showcase "Prairie's Reading Family." Your learner will ask you for permission to take a selfie on his/her iPad with your family holding a favorite book. We will print these pictures from their iPads at school to fill our Reading Family board! Your participation is completely optional!

Remember, no school tomorrow, Friday, February 26th. Have a wonderful long weekend!

GOT SNEAKERS FUNDRAISER: Did you know that your gently worn sneakers could help Prairie PTA? Prairie PTA is participating in a fundraiser where you donate your shoes. All we need is your support and your gently worn, used ,or new sneakers! Here’s how you can help. Start in your and your family’s closets and gather as many pairs of sneakers that you no longer want; maybe you’ve out-grown them, they’re out of style, or out of season. If you and your household have 20 pairs, great! If not, don’t worry. You can ask your neighbors, friends, co-workers, and anyone in your social networks to help out. Every pair counts! The sneakers that we all collect will help raise money to support Prairie PTA AND will help our environment by keeping sneakers out of landfills.
