2018–19 School Report Cards
HARMONY SCHOOL OF ADVANCEMENT-HOUS earned an A (90-100) for exemplary performance by serving most students well, encouraging high academic achievement and/or appropriate academic growth for almost all students, and preparing most students for
eventual success in college, a career, or the military.
Houston Aspirations in Computing Awards
The Award will honor 117 young Houston area women at the high school level for their computing-
related achievements and interests. Recipients are selected for their computing and IT aptitude, leadership ability, academic history, and plans for post-secondary education.

Harris County Clerk Needs Civic Minded Students
In 2019, Harris County hired 967 students from over 100 different high schools! These students played a crucial role in ensuring accessibility to the voters of Harris County while maintaining the integrity of the ballot box.
When students serve on Election Day they receive:
• $17 an hour (a $7 an hour raise from last year!)
• Paid training
• An excused absence from school
• A letter of recommendation from Harris County Clerk Dr. Diane Trautman
Students now have the opportunity to work as an Electronics Support Specialist, responsible for the set-up and maintenance of the elections equipment. Their aim is to have one Electronic Support Specialist at each of the Election Day polling locations.
We encourage students to apply by our priority deadline of January 31, 2020. Students that meet this deadline are more likely to be placed at a location close to their house as well as have first pick of training classes.
Attached a FAQ sheet as well as the permission form your students need to complete should they be interested in working. The application form is also available online here.
Society of Women Engineers
The Society of Women Engineers is the world's largest advocate for women in engineering and technology with a community of over 40,000 professional and collegiate members.
SWENext is a way to become part of the SWE community as a student through the age of 18.
Any student 13 or older can become a SWENexter. For those younger than 13, a parent will need to be the primary contact.
SWE Scholarships support women pursuing bachelor or graduate student programs as well.
From Counselor
The HS-Advancement Counseling Department is working to ensure both students and parents have the opportunity to connect with their assigned counselor!
Many parents have questions regarding academic progress, graduation requirements and college preparation that can easily be answered via email or by scheduling an appointment. While the first line of communication for many of these concerns should be your child’s teacher, counselors are also available to help guide you and your child through high school. Parents can click HERE or scan the QR code to gain access to the Advancement Counseling Department Information Request Form where they can either ask their questions or schedule an appointment with their child’s counselor.
Keep in mind counselors do not accept walk-in appointments but are happy to respond to any inquiries submitted through this form within two (2) business days. We look forward to partnering with you in ensuring your child’s preparation and success during high school and college!
Additional Reading & Writing Tutorials
Mr. Young will hold tutorials on Thursdays until 4:00 PM for students who need additional English EOC preparation, general reading and writing help, or whose teachers are not available at that time. The tutorials will be held in room 415.
All grade levels are welcomed.
CALLING ALL DREAMERS

Want to be one of the first humans to receive a postcard from space?
Draw or write your vision of millions of people living and working in space on the blank side of a self-addressed, stamped postcard, and send it to us. We'll pack the first 10,000 postcards inside the Crew Capsule on an upcoming New Shepard flight. Your idea will launch into space! Once New Shepard returns to Earth, we'll send your postcard back to you, officially stamped “flown to space.” To participate, follow our step-by-step guide
