Big picture

Assalamu Alaikum Dear BHA families,

We are truly missing seeing all the students on campus, but Alhumdulillah, we have been getting some great feedback from parents and students about the virtual academy.

A simple reminder to all the students to make sure to take time everyday, especially after each salah to remember Allah SWT, and express our gratitude to him through our words and actions. We are working hard to make sure that our students continue to grow and succeed even through the limitations posed by this pandemic, and really appreciate our parents support and feedback.

May Allah SWT bless you all and fill our hearts with His love.

Jazakumullahu Khairan

BHA and Oregon Islamic Academy (OIA) Exchange Program

We are excited to announce that this year our high school students have the opportunity to participate in an exchange program with OIA. BHA is offering AP-Computer Science to OIA students with Sr Najwan, and Brother Polo Catalani is offering Creative Writing class for our students through OIA. We had our first two sessions this week and masha Allah they went very well. Written and oral language skills are the key to success in all aspects of life including, but definitely not limited to academic success. With that in mind, we chose to offer this opportunity to our high schoolers to help them grow their language skills, while having the opportunity to interact with students from another out of state Islamic school. We are not only expecting our students to grow through the rigorous curriculum of this class, but also through the whole experience of this exchange program, insha Allah. Being exposed to a highly experienced instructor and meeting students from another Islamic school will be of great benefit.

Now Offering UC Approved Electives and AP Classes!

Student Absences

  • If a student will miss classes for a partial or full day, parents should notify the school office, and the teacher if possible.

  • If a student is late to class and the teacher has already taken the attendance, he/she may not have the opportunity to change that till after the class. Please call us if the attendance was not changed by the end of the day. Late students will be marked Tardy, if they were more than 5 minutes late without a good reason.

  • We recognize that many families have both working parents, and situations may arise that don't allow a student to be in class on time. Please email the teachers ahead of time so they can be more accommodating for you inshaAllah.

Participation Points

Most Teachers assign participation points to each session. If a student is present in class but not doing their work, or are distracted, they may lose the participation grade for that day.

Student Progress: Jupiter Ed.

We suggest that parents check students’ progress at least weekly by looking at Jupiter grades. Please contact the teacher with any concerns or questions early on. Teachers can be emailed through Jupiter Ed.

In Jupiter Ed settings, parents can select how often and when they wish to receive an update from Jupiter Ed. If any family is having difficulty with this, they may contact the school office for help.

The email IDs of teachers can also be found on the BHA website, and their google sites.

Sign In and Out When On Campus

It’s very important that you come to the office and sign in when you need to visit us. Always use the main office gate to enter. Make sure to wear your mask.

Temperatures may need to be checked when visiting teachers and classrooms. Please co-operate with office staff, and maintain social distancing. Jazakumu Allahu khairan.
