SharkTank
Students in grades 6 to 8 are invited to join in the entrepreneurship, SharkTank. Get your team together as the program allows four students per team for a total of 12 teams. Registration opens on the RevTrak Web Store on Monday, Nov. 11 and closes Friday, Nov. 29.
The eight-week program held on Wednesdays begins Dec. 4. SharkTank is sponsored by the Learning Fund Foundation (LFF).
The program will be led by D103 teachers Ms. Vani and Ms. Chiesa. They will cover ideation, problem solving, presentation, marketing, and other entrepreneurship concepts. Please see the LFF flyer for dates and times.
Students Need Lunch From Home
Quest lunches will not be available to students or staff on Monday, Nov. 11, due to presentations taking place in the cafeteria. Students in grades 6 to 8 need to bring a lunch and drink from home. They will eat in their classrooms on this day.
On Monday, Nov. 11, students at Daniel Wright will participate in a school-wide event in honor of Veterans Day. Students will participate in a variety of activities, including lessons focused on the significance of the holiday. Most importantly, students will engage with veterans in small group discussions throughout the day.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are Coming Up!
Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 21 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 25 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and again from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Parents will be able to schedule times to meet with their child’s teachers through our online scheduling system PTC Wizard. The system will be open for scheduling from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Registration Open for Clubs and Activities
Daniel Wright offers over 25 clubs and activities in which students are encouraged to participate. Some extracurricular activities are competitive in nature and require students to tryout for the club. Other activities are meant for student enrichment and are open to all students depending on space.
Registration opened this week. Please register on the RevTrak Web Store. For descriptions of the classes, please read the school's news bulletin. Classes begin in January.
Canned Food Drive
Please consider donating canned foods to the Wright Way Club's We CAN Gobble Up Hunger Food Drive. The club is donating the food items to the Vernon Township Food Pantry on Friday, Nov. 15. For requested food items, please consult the club's flyer.
2020-2021 Calendar Available
The D103 Board of Education approved the 2020-2021 school calendar at a recent meeting.
Due to construction scheduled for Daniel Wright, the first day of school for students will be Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020.
School will end on Friday, June 4, 2021, if no emergency days are used.
Winter Break is set for Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, through Friday, Jan. 1, 2021.
Spring Break is set for Monday, March 22 through Friday, March 26, 2021.

Daniel Wright is seeking veterans who are willing to speak to small groups of students about their experience of serving in the military. The event will take place on Monday, Nov. 11. Please reach out to Kristine Rickert at krickert@d103.org if you have someone in mind.
