## Vocabulary

Base of a parallelogram-the length of any one of its sides.

Height of a parallelogram-the perpendicular distance between the base and the opposite side

Base of a trapezoid- are the trapezoids two parallel sides.

Height of a trapezoid-the perpendicular distance between the base

## Formulas

**Area of Parallelogram- A=bh**

**Area of a Trapezoid- A=1/2(b1+b2)h**

## Examples

Finding area o parallelogram-A=bh

radious-the distance from the center to any point on the circle

diameter-is the distance across the circle through the center,or twice the radious

## Examples

Finding area of a circle-A=3.14r^2

Finding radius of a circle-A=3.14(r)^2

530.66=(3.14)r^2

169=r^2

square root 169=13=r

## Vocabulary

Polyhedron-is a solid that is enclosed by polygons

Face-the polygons that form a polyhedron

Edge-the segments where faces of a polyhedron meet

Vertex-is a point where three or more edges meet.(the plural for vertex is vertices)

Surface Area of a Cylinder-S=2B+Ch=2(3.14)r^2+2(3.14)rh

P=Bases Perimeter

Find the surface area of a cone with radius 4 m and slant height 9 m?

S=3.14(r)^2 + 3.14(r)(l)

S= 3.14(4)^2 + 3.14(4)(9)

S= 163.4 square meters
