SUII News: October 2021
SDG Conference: 25 November 2021
Save the date!
We know this must be a very busy time for all especially with COP26 just upon us. We hope you're doing well.
Some of you will already be aware of this event we've been working on, but we're now very happy to be sharing with all the details of our upcoming SDG Conference.
'Accelerating Progress towards the UN's Global Goals: Knowledge into Practice' will bring together the projects supported as part of SUII's 3 rounds of calls focusing on the UN's SDGs and carried out over 2019–2021, in partnership with Zero Waste Scotland.
Each of the eleven projects brings a different perspective to achieving a fairer, greener Scotland, yet there is also a strong interconnection between many of the projects, generating cross cutting insights.
This event will weave together the threads from these projects and the programme as a whole and consider how the knowledge generated and shared by the programme can be translated into practice. Working from the SDG goals (and their relationship to the National Performance Framework in Scotland), the conference will take place against the background of two major challenges: recovery from the Covid pandemic; and achieving a just and rapid transition to net-zero carbon emissions.
Our latest blog, 'Art, history and the SDGs’, offers some reflections around the conference theme. You can read it here.
The conference will take place on Zoom on Thursday 25 November 2021, 9.30-12.30.
More details and registration can be accessed on our website.
We look forward to the event and to hopefully seeing you there. Please feel free to share this widely with all interested colleagues.
All the best from the SUII team.
