Our first STAAR test went smoothly! We do appreciate the sacrifices you make to ensure your student’s participation and we're grateful you're so committed to helping Booker Be the Best!
In order to keep the contents of the STAAR tests secure and scores validated, all state assessments must be taken on campus. So, mark your calendars, we only have a week until our next and final round of STAAR testing. Students will not need to bring anything on test days. All testing items will be provided. A copy of the testing schedule is below.
If you have any questions or further clarification is needed, please contact me at tdupont@springisd.org

INTERESTED IN THE VIRTUAL ACADEMY?
TAKE THE SURVEY
Don’t Forget to Take Our Virtual Academy Interest Survey!
If you haven’t already, please take a few moments to take our district survey gauging parent interest in a new Virtual Academy! Click here to participate: https://bit.ly/3eMVP70
We’re moving forward with the planning of a Virtual Academy that would serve students in grades 3-12, assuming we’re able to receive state authorization and there’s enough parent interest.
We know that online learning has been a great fit for some families, so we’re looking at offering a virtual academy for students who really thrive in this learning environment.
The academy would build upon our experience over the past year, giving students a combination of synchronous and asynchronous instruction with the opportunity to stay connected with their zoned campus through virtual clubs and in-person extracurricular activities.
So please give us your feedback! The survey will remain open through Friday, May 14.
All PreK - 2nd Grade students will be on campus next year. There will be no virtual options for these grade levels.
The Window to Submit a Transfer Application is Now Open!
If your student is seeking to attend a school in 2021-22 for which they are not zoned, the window to submit a transfer application will open on Monday, May 10 at
Just a reminder, students attending the district’s schools of choice (Roberson Middle School, Spring Leadership Academy, Carl Wunsche Sr. High School, P-TECH at Dekaney High School, and Spring Early College Academy) are NOT considered transfer students since these schools do not have attendance boundaries. Students accepted into these programs receive transportation.
The district offers different transfer types depending on the situation. Regardless of transfer type, transportation will NOT be provided to students. More information on each of the transfer types is available at www.springisd.org/transfers.
Should you have any questions about the online transfer application, please reach out to your student’s current principal.
Applications for transfers will be accepted through Friday, June 4 and will be processed as submitted. Parents should receive a notification if the transfer request is approved, denied or waitlisted within 10 school days from when submitted. Notification will be sent via email or phone call.
Please make sure we have an updated email address and phone number for you in the Home Access Center.
Let's Keep In Touch! Log into HAC Today!
Parents, now’s the time to update your contact information in the Home Access Center and be sure that we have an email address linked to your HAC account.
This is very important as we will need an email address to contact you over the summer with your annual student update in preparation for the 2021-22 school year.
Getting access to HAC is easy via the mySpringISD link, found on every campus website, as well as the district website. Parents who aren’t sure of their logon information should contact their school. If you already have your mySpringISD username and password, getting to HAC is just a matter of logging into the portal and then clicking on the Home Access Center icon.
Once in HAC, you can edit your contact information in the demographics section. Again, it’s very important we have an email address listed in your HAC account. If you need more details on how to access HAC or set up an email address, visit www.springisd.org/hac.

Join the Reading Colors Your World Competition & Win Prizes!
Get ready for the next district reading competition, set to launch on May 10 for students in grades K -8. The event will mark the third such contest this year and will feature prizes, including gift cards and water bottles.
All students need to do is log onto the mySpringISD portal from May 10 - May 28 and access the myON Reader platform, where they’ll be able to access thousands of books. Prizes will be awarded to the top three elementary students with the most minutes of reading time. For students in middle school, prizes will be awarded to those top three with most books read.
Also, myOn Reading Choice Boards will be available through your child’s teacher. You can ask for a print copy or to access it digitally. Challenge yourself by at least completing two non-fiction, two poetry, and two fiction boxes!
The goal is to see all elementary and middle school students logging into myON and exploring new books!
