Quarter 3 Assignments
Teachers will not accept late assignments after today.
4th Quarter @ MMS
We are excited to welcome our students back in the building on March 15th. All families should have received an email with their cohort information for quarter 4.
While in the building all students are expected to follow the following school-wide expectations:
- Students must wear a mask covering their nose and mouth while in the building. If a student is not wearing his/her mask correctly the teacher will give the student a warning. If the issue continues we will contact parents.
- Students should not use cellphones during class or while in the hallway. Students are allowed to use their cell phone during SHAC time.
- Students should not wear headphones in the hallway
- Please be sure all students are dressed appropriately for school.
MMS Athletics
Information and interest forms to be filled out for boys and girls soccer, wrestling, and baseball are now posted on the athletic page of the middle school web site. Anyone wanting to try out for these sports should visit the website and fill out the correct form.
Tryouts will begin on March 29th. Soccer will be the only sport to have OPTIONAL workouts. The dates for optional soccer workouts are included on the interest form.
If you have any questions please email Ann Clark (annclark@mgsd.k12.nc.us).
MAWI Lesson
During one class session the week of March 15th, the MMS math department will will facilitate MAWI Relationships Lesson 3- Build Strong Friendships.
MMS is using the MAWI program to facilitate social and emotional lessons that are designed to help students build life-long coping skills.
Rising 9th Graders
Spring break is just around the corner! The day we return (March 15), eighth graders will virtually visit three elective and/or AP classes at MHS for ten minutes each. The virtual visits will last from 1:45-2:15pm.
Students can visit this link to plan which classes they would like to visit. All course descriptions can be found here. During these visits, students will hear from the teacher and will have an opportunity to ask questions.
This is a great opportunity to explore classes (especially ROTC!) and we can't wait to see the Class of 2025 on Monday the 15th!
MHS counselors will virtually meet with all eighth graders on March 16 to help answer any registration questions.
Students may enter and change their course selections through March 31, 2021.
