A Message from our Principal...
Teacher Appreciation week is coming….NEXT WEEK!!! I’m convinced we have the BESt teachers on the planet!! I’m forever grateful for the way they LOVE our Bears and the hours they put in each day to provide the ultimate learning experience. Parents, I need your help! I believe handwritten notes of appreciation are priceless. I’m encouraging our Bears to write a quick note of appreciation for their teacher next week. Can you help us with this challenge? These notes may be dropped off in the front office or hand delivered by your Bear. Thank you so much!! We want to make sure our teachers feel the LOVE next week!! Happy Weekend!!!!

Nurse Abby...
Hi Bears!
I wanted to provide information regarding a common condition within the school setting. It’s lice…there I said it! Flu has passed, and now it’s lice season. I want to encourage you to check your child’s hair daily for nits and lice bugs. This can be a quick step in the morning when your child is getting ready for school. Read the lice fact sheet attached in the link below. I am here as a resource so please reach out to me if you have any questions.
What is it and how did my child get it?

What to do if you find nits or lice, read the link below.

Stay Healthy,

From the Library…
With that being said, we need to get those books turned in.
- Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade should have all of their books turned in or paid for by May 1.
- 3rd and 4th grade should turn theirs in right after STAAR testing on May 15th. Make sure your student has their books with them the days of STAAR.
If you have lost or have damaged books you can cover that cost 2 ways:
- Send exact change or check made out to "Birmingham Elementary"
- Bring some of the following items in to cover the cost of the book(s)
Bring canned goods to be donated to Christian Care Center: $2.00 off per can
Bring canned dog/cat food to be donated to Wylie Animal Shelter: $2.00 off per can
If books are not returned or paid for, your child will be not be able to check out books at the beginning of next year. Please make payment for books owed or bring the exchange items and turn them in as quickly as possible. We want all students to start the year with a clear record so they can enjoy using the library and checking out books.
Thank you and have a fabulous weekend!
Mrs. April
