Arroyo Seco Jr. High School -- December 13, 2019
Principal's Message
Hello Seco Families,
Please note that there is no school next Friday, December 20. Thursday the 19th is the last day of the 2nd quarter with a regular dismissal time of 2:10. Students are then on Winter Break, returning for the start of the new semester on Monday, January 13. Third quarter schedules will be available on Infinite Campus on Friday afternoon, January 10. Any schedules accessed before then may not be accurate.
The solar panel installation will begin again during the winter break and will continue until it's completed, most likely the first week of February. While this should have minimal impact on our campus during school hours, we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process.
As you know, this has been a very challenging and difficult semester in a number of ways. Because of that, as well as the loss of instructional time, we have decided to cancel the Showcase for our 8th grade students this school year. Instead, we would like to direct our energy and focus in the spring on helping our 8th graders prepare for the transition to high school. We will bring back the Showcase in 2021 for our current 7th graders.
Despite the challenges of this semester, there have been many positives, one of which is working with our amazing Saugus community. Thank you, as always, for all of your ongoing support. We wish you and your families a safe, healthy, and Happy Holiday season and we look forward to seeing you in January for the start of a fantastic 2020!
