RISD Elementary Parent Newsletter
Week of November 19
The below pictures are crafted from the words your wonderful teachers and staff said when I asked them "what are you thankful for at school and in life". They are such a dedicated and incredible group of people.
Message from Julie
Hello RISD Elementary Families!
Thank you to all the WES familes who came out for the Harvest Dinner...what a great time that was! It was a truly beautiful event.
I am so grateful for our amazing teachers and students and their amazing work every day.
Thank you all for making me feel so welcome in this amazing community! :)
I will be rescheduling our coffee chats until after Thanksgiving.
Thank you for your patience with our dismissal on Tuesday - it was definitely an unexpected day! We are working on better procedures to make everything go smoother if that were to happen again.

A Note from Mrs. O'Hearn
Disability Awarenss Day is a Simulation Event held at school, where students will rotate through stations and get to feel what it would be like to have a real-life disability. Students will attend this event with their teachers. Volunteers are needed to run the stations. Please contact Mrs. Ann O'Hearn, School Counselor, if you are able to help out and volunteer at this event. No training is required, just your time and interest! :)

A Note from Mrs. Duvall -
Hello Rivendell Families! Concert season is quickly approaching and we're doing things a little differently this year. The elementary Winter Concert will be a combined concert for both Westshire and Samuel Morey schools. The Winter Concert will be on Tuesday, December 11th 630pm in the Rivendell Academy gymnasium. Students can wear seasonal dress clothes that align with the district dress code.
For students would like to practice at home, I have put links to lyrics and practice videos on my blog site. Please encourage your children to practice! Thank you for your continued support in the arts. https://musicwithmrsduvall.blogspot.com/

If you are someone who enjoys social media, please consider "liking" our WES and SME Facebook pages. I am trying hard to post often about the exciting and cool things that go on at our schools. It is also a great place to see reminders about school events.
