Student Spotlight: John Francis!
John Francis is a sophomore who has developed an interest in music and the martial arts. John takes band at his local brick and mortar high school, and plays in the jazz band there as well. This school year, John auditioned for and was accepted into UWAY (a UW-Milwaukee sponsored student wind ensemble comprised of select high school students from the entire metro-Milwaukee area). He will rehearse with and perform several concerts with this group throughout the school year.
John has also been involved in learning Tae Kwon Do through Cho’s Martial Arts for many years. He recently tested for and was awarded the Deputy Black Belt. John spent a year training for this belt, and he not only was awarded the ranking but he also received the leadership award and a “High Points” trophy as well.
John plans to continue his musical training with trombone as he continues through high school. He also plans to spend the next year training for Black Belt.
Congratulation, John!
