From the Principal
We had a great week at LEES! Students enjoyed dressing like they lived in the 1960s. Our fifth graders also had a great time on their field trip to MTC, where they learned about different careers. Please see some of the pictures below from this week's events!
Next week, we will be recogninzing National Bully Prevention and Awareness month with several dress up days and activities. Here are the dress up days for the week:
Monday (Oct. 17)--"Put Bullying to Rest" and wear your pajamas!
Tuesday (Oct. 18)--"Be on the Hunt for Kindness" and wear camoflage
Wednesday (Oct. 19)--"We're All in This Together"--Unity Day--wear orange
Thursday (Oct. 20--"Peace Out to Bullying"--wear tie dye
Friday (Oct. 21)--"Kindness is Our Superhero"--dress like your favorite superhero
Also, on Wednesday, students will have an opportunity to particiapte in a pillow and blanket drive by bringing in new pillows and blankets to be given to Mercy House as the weather turns colder. This is a way for us to UNITE in kindness to help others!
There will be a PTO meeting on Monday, October 17, at 5:30 PM in the library. We are planning several fun activities and would love for you to join us!
On Thursday, October 20, LEES will be practicing our Earthquake Drill at 10:20 AM as part of the Great Southeast Shakout.
Also, on Thursday night, please make plans to come to the LEES gym from 6:30-7:30 PM for our Math Night! JMU education students will be planning some fun games for families to play and take home. Prior to this event, at 6:15 PM, parents are welcome to come to the library to find out more about Title I. Ms. Showalter will be sharing information about Title I schools. I hope everyone makes plans to attend!
Please mark your calendars for the PTO fundraiser at Gobbler Grill on November 1. Families can eat inside the restaurant or pick up food to take home, and the PTO will receive a percentage of the profits. This is an all day event!
I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
Mrs. Ridder
