Poynter Middle School

Notes from the Principal

Welcome to the Second Semester

Welcome to Spring!!! We are on the fast track to the end of the school year and we have so much more to do before the year ends. In the next few weeks, your student will start SBAC testing (state testing), forecast for next year (toward the end of April), and finish up Quarter 4.

This past week we hosted our first annual Poynter, Parents and Pastries event. We had a good turn out and opened up our school to parents, students and staff. It was great to see parents, students and staff sharing a little breakfast and just chatting. I look forward to having this event next year.

We will have our first ever Poynter Parent Club fundraiser night at Burgerville on Cornell Road on April 19th from 5:00-8:00. Come join us for this fun event.

ATTENTION 7th GRADE PARENTS: Forecasting for 8th grade starts in April

In April, 7th grade students will start the forecasting for their 8th grade year. Ms. Meyers will be meeting with 7th grade students to talk about their 8th grade year and classes that they will be taking. We will be offering new electives, have a different bell schedule, and changes in PE. We are very excited about 2016-2017. Please check in with your students in the next few weeks about forecasting. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, Mr. Zerizef (Asst. Principal), Mr. Meyers and Mr. King (counselors) at 503-844-1580.
