She has been working on ceramics for over thirty years. She lives on the island of Martha's Vineyard. She cuts away at porcelain as much as she can before her pieces loose their structural integrity and she also thins the porcelain as much as she can get away with before the porcelain cracks when it is fired. She also uses 23 carat gold leaf to paint her ceramics. She graduated from Michigan State University in 1978. She became interested in pottery because of her grandmother's interest in ceramics.
