We start our third week of the second 9 weeks. We have a lot of great events happening this week. Please check out our newsletter below.
October 31 - Community & Student Activities
-Annual Central Office Trick or Treating: All our PK-2nd grade students will be collecting candy at Central Office for the annual Central Office Trick or Treat. Please send your child with a bag to collect their treats.
-Community Story Book Parade & Pep Rally: We'd love for you to come say hello to our students on the parade route. Check out the parade route below. We will be holding a pep rally at the elementary gym right after the parade. The pep rally will be open to all parents.
Booktoberfest: Join us at this fun event for the entire family. There will be free games, costume contests, halloween treats . Our school will be showcasing all the student Storybook Pumpkins, have face painting, glow sticks, and be selling books from the Scholastic Bookfair. Come by to say hello at the high school from 4:00-6:00pm.
Scholastic Book Fair
One more week of our book fair. It will be open during the day for students and staff until Friday, Nov. 4. Stop by and take a look with your child Tuesday after school. The bookfair will be open from 3:30-4:30 on Tuesday especially for our families. You can also take a look at Booktoberfest at the High School on Monday.
Elementary Fundraiser - Will you help us raise some "dough" for our school?
Thank you elementary students and families for your amazing help selling the Krispy Kreme cards! All cards have been delievered.
Saturday Camps
All students will be receiving an invitation for November's Saturday Tutoring Camp. Please take a close look at it as your child's teacher will indicate a specific target area for your child.
For the month of November and December, there are two days scheduled for extended learning (Saturday Camp). For November and December, students will receive 3 hours of academic practice and one hour of enrichment class. Students will get to choose their top three choices for enrichment on the permission slip.
Attendance
We take a lot of pride in our attendance at Tornillo Elementary. Please help us maintain it at 98%!
1. When your child is absent, please send the doctor's note or parent note to the office the next day.
2. Tardy Bell rings at 7:50am. A student will receive a tardy slip every time they arrive late.

Mindful Monday, Oct. 31 - Wear your costume "Don't forget the book or book cover for your costume."
