Barnes & Noble PTA Fundraiser on Sunday, December 13th from 12:00-4:00 p.m.
Looking for holiday gifts? Please consider shopping at Barnes and Noble on Sunday, December 13th and a portion of all proceeds (including the café!) will go to support Central Elementary!
You can shop in person with our school code and shop online. All sales which occur on Sunday, December 13th associated with our school code (Code 11729688) will count towards our total, so please share with your friends and family no matter where they live!
If you are able to come into the local Barnes and Noble, we will have holiday crafts, cookie decorating and book readings for the children to get in the holiday spirit. We hope to see you there!

Central Holiday Shop
Holiday Shop is coming back to Central by popular demand!
Students will have the opportunity to do a little holiday shopping for family and friends when their classroom is scheduled to shop. We are working with a company who specializes in children’s holiday gifts so the gifts are very reasonably priced (from $.25 to $12 with the majority of gifts in the $1-$4 range). If students are absent or miss their classroom’s scheduled shopping time, then they may come and shop any other time that the shop is open. Forms will be sent home on Friday, December 11th with each student .
Tuesday, December 15th 9 AM to 1:15 PM: PREVIEW DAY
Wednesday, December 16th, 9 AM to 1:15 PM: SHOPPING
Thursday, December 17th, 11:30 to 3:15 PM: SHOPPING
We are seeking parent volunteers. You can email Jenn Campbell at CentralPTA305@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering to staff the shop and help the kiddos. This is sure be a lot of fun for all!
This Is Our Story & Art Show
“This is Our Story” is a city-wide music and art program that takes place at Valparaiso High School on December 15th. The program begins with the art show in the main hallways starting at 6:00 PM, then the concert begins at 7:30 PM. We hope to see you there!
Have You Paid Your Book Rental?
Just a friendly reminder, book rental balances are due by December 30, 2015. Please keep in mind, if you would like to pay by check you must do so by Friday, December 18, as it is the last day the school office is open prior to break. Any monies not turned in by that date will be turned over to the Administration office for collection. Fee statements were sent home in October and November. We Need Used Ink Jet Cartridges
The Holiday Food and Household Supply Drive of Awesomeness!
Student Council is sponsoring a supply drive that will be held from Tuesday, Dec. 1 through Wednesday, December 16. It will benefit the Valparaiso Schools Back Pack Project and Hilltop Food Pantry.
The Valpo Back Pack Project is a mini food pantry housed in each of the elementary schools. Food and household supplies are then delivered to families in need when necessary.
Items that we will collect include: toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, toothpaste, detergent, body soap, and shampoo. Canned and boxed food will also be collected.

Love & Logic Parenting Sessions
This group will meet at Central Elementary on Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on the following dates: January 12, January 19, January 26, February 2, February 9, and February 16. Space is limited to the first 25 families so if you are interested, please complete the form that was sent to you through email. Return this form to Mrs. Sienkowski along with $10 cash ONLY by Thursday, December 17th.
