We have a full week of activities this week to close out the month of February. In addition to the Black History Month Assembly we will also recognize national FFA (Future Farmers of America) week. Make sure you are up to date with all happenings at CHS by reading the Cavalier Contact. Please take note of a few of the upcoming events for this week:

We are inviting parents to participate in an A/B Schedule Focus Group Meeting on February 25th, 2020 in the CHS Library at 6 pm. Coffee and Tea will be provided.

Skills USA Districts at CHS
Friday February 14th CHS hosted tow SkillsUSA District 11 Automotive Competition events. Automotive Service Technology and Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair. Twenty four total competitors from six school districts participated.

Indoor Track Concludes Season on March 2nd and March 3rd at the State Championships
On Saturday, February 15th, the Group 4A Region B Indoor Track Championship Meet was held at Woodberry Forest School, Barbee Center. Sixteen schools were in competition. The Girl’s team placed 11th with 12 points, and the boy’s team placed 7th with 35.33 points. The top three individuals or teams will advance with state standards.
The following individuals placed in the top 8 places on Saturday:
- Makayla Davis 6th - in the 300-meter dash and 5th in the 500-meter dash
- Amiri Boddie - 4th in the shot
- Isaiah Blount - 2nd in the 500-meter dash he also qualified for the state in the shot
- Chester Monroe - 5th in the shot
- Zadok Laryea - 6th triple jump and the shot
- JaQuan Clark - 8th in the high jump and 5th in the 55-meter dash
- Jerhmeer Lassic - 3rd in the 300-meter dash
- Bryan Kovach - 7th in the pole vault
- The team of Isaiah Blount, Kameron Freeman, Zadok Laryea and Jehmeer Lassic placed 4th in the 4 by 400 meter relay.
The two-day state meet is March 2nd and 3rd at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Best wishes to Jehmeer Lassic, Chester Monroe, and Isaiah Blount who have advanced to the state level. Do Well for Caroline!

- Tickets go on sale March 12th in D07 only
- March 12th and 13th tickets will be sold for 30.00 each/ Cash, checks, debit and credit cards accepted
- March 16th-20th, tickets will go up to 35.00 each
- March 20th is the LAST day to purchase tickets.
Only juniors and seniors are able to purchase tickets. In order to purchase a ticket the student must have paid all debts! This goes for the date/guest as well. Only one guest per person. Age limits: 9th grade-age 20.
