Vasco da Gama

The Portuguese Explorer
Explorer Vasco da Gama was born in Sines, Portugal, around 1460. In 1497, he was commissioned by the Portuguese king to find a maritime route to the East. His success in doing so proved to be one of the more instrumental moments in the history of navigation. He subsequently made two other voyages to India, and was appointed as Portuguese viceroy in India in 1524.

His kingdom and also the one who he sailed for was the Kingdom of Portugal.
Routes
One of his routes, (the one that he was most known for) was his first voyage which discovered a sea route linking Europe and Asia by going around the tip of Africa.
Vasco da Gama
Vasco da Gama was mainly known for his famous voyages around Africa but he had a life outside of exploration. He had married and had 6 sons.
Overview
Vasco da Gama was a great explorer who found the first sea route connecting Europe and India. Accomplishing this, he set a new era of trade which increased money. His accomplishment will be remembered forever.
