National School Counseling Week!
School Counselors provide students with academic, college/career and social/emotional development through our work in the classroom, in small groups and individually with students. We partner with families, teachers, administrators & support staff to help each student reach their goals.

Academics
End of 1st Semester
Teachers will be finalizing grades by Jan. 30. Final grades will be viewable the week of Jan. 30 through StudentVUE & ParentVUE. 1st semester grades are posted to student transcripts. If you or your student have questions about credit recovery options, please connect with your school counselor.

SUN Tutoring
Free Tutoring After School
Tutoring hours are between 3:30 - 5 PM Mon, Wed & Thurs in the Library & Tues. outside room 031.
Participants should submit a SUN permission form.
Night School Registration
Students needing to credit recover a class or who are interested in improving their GPA should connect with their counselor to sign up.
Classes are free & occur 1 evening/week for each class, 5-8pm.
Classes will run from Feb. 21 - May 25.
College & Career
Humane Society Volunteers
Long-Term Volunteer Youth Program is now available at the Oregon Humane Society.
- Learn, socialize & train w/ shelter dogs & cats
- Volunteer w/ staff & peers on projects for shelter animals
- Students need to commit to a set of 2 hr shifts every other week for a minimum of 6 months
- Must be 12-17 years old
- Apply online, lottery acceptance
Pathways to Trades
Students interested in learning about trade careers, education & certifications needed? The Spring class offered afterschool will focus on construction/infrastructure, manufacturing & career readiness. Students earn 0.5 elective credit & CRLE for participating.
Class will meet once/week for 12 weeks afterschool.

NW Youth Careers Expo
Student opportunity to learn about careers in Health Care, Business, Technology, Arts, Communication, Engineering, Construction, Energy, Cosmetology & more.
Feb. 22 - 8:30am-11:30am
Bus transportation provided from McDaniel to Oregon Convention Center

PACE Mentorship Program
PACE (Plumbing, Air, Carpentry, Electrical) is a FREE afterschool mentorship program open to students in 9th-12th grade. Provides opportunity to work with career professionals to learn introductory skills needed for good paying careers in the trades.

Wednesdays 4:30-6:30pm @ PPS District Office

FAFSA/ORSAA Completion
50% of Seniors have completed their FAFSA/ORSAA!
Our goal is to have 75% of graduating seniors complete. This application is how students get $$ to pay for any further education or training after high school. Students still needing to complete their application should connect with our College Coordinator Esthera Magda (rm 227) for assistance.

PCC Future Connect
Future Connect is a scholarship & support program for students who identify as first-generation or low-income. They focus on eliminating barriers to college, and provide students with on-going support throughout their time at PCC.
Through scholarship money, career guidance & personalized advising, Future Connect helps students build pathways to their futures.
Priority deadline for application is March 1, 2023
