What's Happening at Raven Delta
February 24 - 28, 2020
Events this week
February 25 Terrific Tuesday, 1:30 pm. Owls (grades 9-12). Owls come to roost and spend some fun time with other high school students. NO ELECTRONICS ALLOWED.
February 26 Parent Advisory Committee Meeting, 2 pm.
February 28 RSVP for participation in the St. Jude's Math-A-Thon.
St. Jude's Math-A-Thon
Donations help ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
The Math-A-Thon is open to students grades K through 8. You can sign up by contacting Julie at the Raven Office or by signing up online at stjude.org/math. Look for Raven Correspondence School Delta.
Students that participate will receive a booklet for their grade level with fun math problems to solve. You can ask family, friends and neighbors to donate an amount per problem solved (i.e. five to ten cents a problem, or more!) or a one-time amount of $5, $10, or more!
All funds collected will be sent to St. Jude. This is a fun service project that helps kids in need.
Boy's Night Out
Boys and dads will meet together to make and test out rocket stoves! Save the date: March 24th, 6 pm. RSVP by March 20th if you are planning to attend.
We need cans. Please save your cans from size 15 oz and up. You can drop them by the Raven Office (clean, please) any time.
Sounds like a good time! Roast a few marshmallows for us!!
Excel Workshops
Please find a new revised schedule for Alaska EXCEL as of this week! Some of the sessions have been removed or moved around. Welding and driver's education will now be part of Summer XL.
Some other important information to know:
- A second EXCEL 7/8 will take place April 27-May 1 ONLY for those students who have already applied to EXCEL 7/8 and are not attending the February session.
- The EXCEL Mini Bridging CTMJ Fair for seniors is great for helping seniors prepare for next year and also the time to be interviewed for the EXCEL Capstone/Internship program.
- The EXCEL Leadership Session is great for those who want to learn leadership skills and/or are interested in the military.
Let me know if you have any questions.
