Keeping up with the Counselors
Timberwood Middle School
February
National School Counseling Week
National School Counseling Week is a time to celebrate the countless benefits of a comprehensive school counseling program. The counseling program at Timberwood successful because of our stakeholders.
Teachers that allow us to provide guidance lessons in the classroom. Timberwood counselors have provided 137.5 hours of classroom guidance lessons. Our guidance lessons are a part of the Humble ISD's the Great 8 Skills for Daily Life.
Parents support our program by referring their students and by being partners with the counselors to insure their students are receiving the appropriate support. Counselors are able to share community resources available to parents and students.
Students are invited to small group counseling groups based on different needs. Timberwood has provided small groups on a range of topics from academic support to grief support. We work with Atascocita High School's JROTC to mentor 8th graders as they transition to high school.
The counselors at Timberwood also participate in the national "Start with Hello" campaign and work to reward students that put their Great 8 skills to use through the Positive Behavior and Intervention and Supports program (PBIS). Thank you for helping our program be successful!
