Portage Township Schools | An Indiana "B" School District!
October 23, 2020
Our virtual learners are continuing to work hard and demonstrate their determination and dedication to their education. To our virtual families: Remember that we are always here to support you, and we will welcome you back to your schools when you are ready. Keep up the great work!
NOVEMBER CALENDAR FOR PTS
Parent/Teacher Conferences have been rescheduled for later this school year, so there will be no conferences held on November 3 as previously scheduled. This will still be an E-Learning Day in observance of Election Day.
Portage Township Schools will be hosting E-Learning Days on the first Wednesday of each month. This takes the place of our previous Late-Start Wednesdays. On these days, all students will learn from home so our staff members can participate in valuable professional development. This month's E-Learning Wednesday will take place on November 4.
PTS COVID-19 DASHBOARD
We have launched our PTS District COVID-19 Dashboard, which is available on our website under COVID-19 Information. The intention of this dashboard is to keep our PTS community informed of all positive cases of COVID-19 in our schools since our return to in-person learning on October 20. The dashboard will be updated each Friday. Click on the link below to view our dashboard and related communications with families.

SCHOOL BUS SAFETY REMINDERS
School buses are equipped with stop arms that deploy whenever the bus is stopped to pick up students. It is the law to stop for a stop arm and yield to a school bus. When a bus is stopped and the stop arm is deployed, there are children present. Drivers who pass a deployed stop arm or go around a stopped school bus with its stop arm deployed are putting our students in harms way.
The graphic below details what our students and community members can do to keep our students safe on the school bus. Additionally, community members can report school bus stop arm violations on our website or by clicking on this link: https://forms.gle/JimEcbU4qE4Tgb68A.
