Hi from TMHS

Seniors....We are thinking about you!

We want to you to know that we are thinking about seniors and planning for end of year events. Certainly, our wish is to have end of the year events for seniors as we have always done, however, we are working hard to try and plan events that will be special for seniors with consideration of the global pandemic. If seniors have ideas for us to consider in our planning, they should reach out to their class officers. We will be meeting with them real soon as part of our planning.

Reminder- No Senior Project

Just a reminder that we are not able to have seniors participate in Senior Project this year because of the quarantine due to the pandemic. All seniors are to continue with their course work through remote learning.

Quarter 3 Grades

We understand that this is a difficult time for many of us and I know that we are all striving to be flexible. We are asking that students do their best to move forward during this unprecedented time. This is uncharted territory and we know that there will be modifications as we proceed. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding! Please reach out to your student’s teacher or guidance counselor with any concerns about specific Remote Learning activities.

We have received several questions regarding Quarter Three grades. The information below will hopefully answer your questions and alleviate any of your concerns.

  • Quarter 3 (Q3)

    • Grades for Q3 will close on May 1, 2020

    • Students will receive a grade for Q3 based on work assigned prior to the close of school on March 12, 2020.

    • Optional Assignment/Assessment/Activity

      • Every student will have the opportunity to do one additional assignment/assessment/ activity assigned by their teacher in each course. It will count as a test/project grade in their Q3 grade. This is optional and not doing the assessment/activity will not negatively impact the Q3 average as of March 13th.

      • Q3 grades will be factored into the final GPA

  • If your child receives a special education quarterly progress report, it will be included with the Q3 Report Card and follow the same timeline as above.

Once again, if you have specific questions about your child’s progress, please contact your guidance counselor or teachers.

Remote Learning and Aspen

Teachers will be inputting a code and comments about student participation in remote learning activities in Aspen. You will see a category called remote learning there will be either RL-P which means Remote Learning Participate or RL-NP which means Remote Learning Not Participate. Students will continue to receive information about assignments and specific feedback from teachers in Google Classroom. All teachers will post assignments on Monday so students have all week to plan out their work.

As a reminder these participation codes do not factor into yearly or quarterly averages, at this point.

April Vacation

This week was scheduled to be our April vacation. However, students will continue to engage in Remote Learning activities and assignments next week.

Physical Education/Wellness Activities

Activities for exercise and wellness will be updated on the TMHS website each day. We encourage everyone to find time each day to focus on their physical and mental wellness.

Students will receive feedback on this work and whether students receive credit/no credit will be determined for all students at the end of the school year.
