NEWS FROM THE NEST
December 2022
THANK YOU!
- Fill the Dome Food Drive
Thank you to all that sent in donations for the annual food drive! Mrs. Johnson's class had 160 pounds of food and celebrated with a popcorn party! The total pounds of food that Eagles donated was 1,161 pounds....amACEing!!!
- We want to thank Cindy Lindstaedt (grandparent of Ruby) and Bell Bank for their donation of $2,850 to be used for winter gear for students in need. We are so fortunate to live in a community that supports others in need. The Pay-It-Forward program at Bell Bank has given so much to the Eagles community.
- Thank you to our parents that took time from their day to be interviewed by the Cognia Internal Accreditation Team. The final report from the committee is in a PDF below. We are proud of the work that happens at Eagles and thank you for being a part of the journey.
Cognia Internal School Improvement Review Report:
Below as a PDF is the final written report of our November 8th internal school improvement review. Please take a moment to review their feedback.
In short, here were the identified strengths and opportunities at Eagles:
STRENGTHS:
- Amazing culture & climate that fosters a positive learning environment for all students.
- Learning environments where students were highly self-directed performing learning tasks and activities independently.
- Leadership & staff at Eagles have cultivated a culture of care and a learning environment where kids feel safe and cared for.
OPPORTUNITIES:
- Formative feedback to students can be used to help teachers monitor student learning quickly and make adjustments to teaching strategies that best meet the needs of students.
- Opportunities for students to work collaboratively with peers in various combinations of student groupings to complete projects, tasks, and activities.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I am so proud of the work we do here each day and thank each one of you for the role you play. There is no role at this school that doesn’t impact our students and their learning and for that I am thankful 😊.
School Drop-Off reminders...
- Please pull up as far forward in the drop off zone as you can.
- Do NOT get out of your car in the drop off zone. Allow your child to get out of the car on the right hand side. They should have all items ready to go in the car to ensure a speedy drop-off.
- If you need to provide your child with assistance when getting out, please find a spot to park in the parking lot and walk them in.

Eagles PTA Update
At the November meeting, Eagles PTA voted to approve a funding request from Student Council for T-shirts to wear at community events, such as Fill the Dome. PTA is proud to support our am-ACE-ing students!
Congratulations to Ms. Green’s Kindergarten class for winning a Dilly Bar party! This class had the most PTA members at the end of the membership drive! It’s not too late to join PTA; sign up in SchoolPay or fill out the membership form.
Make your voice heard by attending the December PTA Meeting at 6:30 pm Monday, Dec. 5. Join the meeting either in-person in the Eagles library or online via Zoom. School Board Member Nikkie Gullickson, our school’s liaison, plans to attend and is excited to connect with lots of Eagles parents and staff.
On Wednesday, Dec. 7, you can support Eagles by ordering from any Fargo-Moorhead Papa Murphy’s location. Use code GIVE20 when placing your order online or show this flyer when ordering in the store, and Papa Murphy’s will donate 20% of orders back to the school!
Encourage your Aces to show their voice! Eagles is once again participating in Reflections, a national PTA arts program. Each year, students are encouraged to create work of visual art on an annual theme; other categories include photography, literature, film, dance or music composition. The 2022-23 theme is “Show Your Voice.” Submissions will be due Jan. 13. Contact Casinda Langseth for more information.
Happy Holidays to one and all! Enjoy the Winter Break with your families!
